Leaders have influence because
of what they do; they change lives because of who they are.
Leaders must be called by God and must possess the competencies
to make things happen. But without godly character, God is
not likely to use an otherwise qualified leader. In an age
where folks are fascinated by the tools and techniques of
leadership, the single most important aspect of a leader's
impact is character.
Describing new research on the character of Christian leaders, George
Barna will explore the most challenging areas of character development
in the life of the typical leader. Dr. Henry Cloud will provide an
integrated model of the character of the effective leader, gleaned from 20
years of coaching leaders in ministry and business. John Ortberg will
explore the issues that can compromise character, and the steps leaders can
take to guard against "the seduction of the leader."
