It seems simple enough. Pastors are called
to serve. And they're called to lead. The hard part of this
equation? Faithfully performing the (not-so-identical) twin
tasks of serving and leading.
One of the greatest challenges of ministry is dealing with
role confusion. A pair of veteran pastors, Leith Anderson
and Erwin McManus, join Leadership Journal editor Marshall
Shelley for a challenging look at The Calling: Being
a Leader, Being a Servant. This live, interactive
CCN satellite broadcast is Thursday, November 13.
Pastors are shepherds and teachers, but are they really leaders?
Leadership Journal has surveyed pastors and the people they
lead to find out what the people in the pews think about
their pastors as leaders. The answers may surprise you.
The panel will also tackle issues such as:
? How do I lead when I am also supposed to serve?
? How does the ?calling of God? affect the way leaders lead?
? What styles and types of leadership are most common in the church today?
? What is the role of self-confidence and a healthy ego in leadership?
? How can I assert leadership and submit to the expectations of others?
If you are leader and a servant, plan to be part of this challenging
broadcast live on CCN.
