Spiritual growth. It’s the goal of small group leaders and members alike. But how does it occur?
Small group experts Bill Donahue and Dr. Henry Cloud begin a new yearlong series on CCN called Groups That Grow by tackling the issue of transformation within small groups.
Creating an Environment for Spiritual Growth provides practical tools to help small groups pastors and volunteer leaders develop a small group atmosphere conducive to life change.
Cloud and Donahue will look at the barriers that hinder spiritual growth within groups. These include a lack of clarity about:
- How people grow spiritually
- The role of the leader in spiritual growth
- How relationships work in groups
- The limits of small groups
Learn how to address these barriers and overcome them by creating small groups that encourage:
- Active listening
- Speaking the truth
- Respecting boundaries
- Establishing ground rules
- Promoting healthy self-disclosure
Help your groups set ground rules to help clarify expectations as you strive to create spiritual growth within your small groups structure — and each small group in it.
